AS plastics, is a polymer compound. Generally, it contains 15%-50% styrene and is a transparent solid with yellow to amber needle color. AS plastics can be used as engineering plastics and widely used in electronic and electrical fields. AS plastic has a density of 1.06, is thermoplastic, does not change color easily, and is not affected by dilute acid, dilute alkali, dilute alcohol and gasoline, but is soluble in acetone, ethyl acetate, dichloroethylene, etc., and has excellent heat resistance and solvent resistance. AS plastics are mainly used in oil-resistant mechanical parts, instrument housings, instrument panels, battery boxes, tractor fuel tanks, battery housings, packaging containers, daily necessities and so on. AS plastic can also be drawn into monofilaments, but it is mainly used as polyblends for ABS resin production.
Transparency: high transparency (light transmittance ≥85%), colorless, transparent or translucent appearance, excellent gloss.
Density: 1.06-1.08g/cm, heavier than water, medium density.
Hardness and strength: Rockwell hardness R70-R100, tensile strength 60-80MPa, bending strength 90-120MPa, good toughness .

Chemical resistance: resistant to acid, alkali, salt and most organic solvents, but soluble in ketone solvents such as acetone and ethyl acetate and some aromatic hydrocarbons and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
Weather resistance: moderate weather resistance, good stability when exposed to sunlight, rain and other environments for a long time.

Thermoplastic, easy to process and shape, but it needs higher processing temperature (200-240ºC) and is brittle.
