HDPE
High-density polyethylene (HDPE) is a white powder or granular product. It is non-toxic and odorless. Its crystallinity ranges from 80% to 90%, and its softening point is between 125 and 135 ºC. Its usable temperature can reach 100 ºC. Its hardness, tensile strength and creep resistance are superior to those of low-density polyethylene. It has better wear resistance, electrical insulation, toughness and cold resistance. It has good chemical stability. At room temperature, it does not dissolve in any organic solvent and is resistant to corrosion by acids, alkalis and various salts. The film has low permeability to water vapor and air and low water absorption. Its aging resistance is poor. Its resistance to environmental stress cracking is inferior to that of low-density polyethylene, especially the thermal oxidation effect will deteriorate its performance. Therefore, antioxidants and ultraviolet absorbers must be added to the resin to improve these deficiencies. The thermal deformation temperature of HDPE film is relatively low under force. Attention should be paid when applying it.
