POM

POM resins are semi-crystalline, thermoplastic polymers made by the polymerization of formaldehyde, and are also commonly referred to as polyoxymethylene (POM). 
POM Raw Material, Scientific name Polyoxymethylene POM (POM), also known as race steel, special steel. It is based on formaldehyde and other raw materials for polymerization. POM-H (polyoxymethylene homopolymer), POM-K (polyoxymethylene copolymer) is a high density, high crystallinity thermoplastic engineering plastics.

POM resin could be produced with different high performance properties, like strength (with GF-glass fibers, MF-mineral fibers, Talc, CF-carbon fibers), flame retardant(FR), weather-ability(UV), heat resistance, high flow ability, high gloss, and flammability, etc

POM has been used in the automotive, appliance, construction, hardware, electronics, and consumer goods industries, among others.

Application Features

POM has a tensile strength of up to 70MPa, excellent flexural strength rigidity, outstanding fatigue resistance, and can maintain stability under long-term load. Its hardness is close to that of metal, known as "super steel", suitable for highload parts such as gears and bearings.

Outstanding wear resistance and self-lubrication
Low friction coefficient and no need for external lubricants, especially for the manufacture of sliding or rotating parts (such as gears, bearings), which can significantly reduce wear and noise.

Dimensional stability and low water absorption
 water absorption (about 0.3%), can still maintain dimensional accuracy in humid environment, suitable for precision parts and electronic and electrical fields.

Chemical and properties

Resistant to oil, organic solvents and weak acids and alkalis, but sensitive to strong acids, strong alkalis and ultraviolet rays;
Stable electrical, with little effect from temperature and humidity changes, suitable for electrical components such as connectors and switches.
Temperature adaptability
The long-term service temperature range from -40°C to 100°C, and it can withstand higher temperatures in the short term, but it is prone to decomposition at high temperatures (mel point around 165°C), and long-term exposure to high temperatures should be avoided.
